Corpus Christi Jewels a touch of edgy-love

One of my best friends in Paris is a beautiful actress who is always dressed immaculately chic - but with a twist that I just adore. She almost always wears a piece of jewelry that gives her that extra bit of edge from a humble brand called Corpus Christi (literally meaning: body of Christ) which has a whisper of goth, a splash of romance and a hint of sexiness and almost every piece has a message of some sort - but mostly about love.
This jewelry, created by Thierry Gougenot always reminds me of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 movie Romeo and Juliet – with its theme of undying love through saturated colors of religion and fearless splendor! Wearing Corpus Christi is like the movie’s theme song ‘Im kissing you’ - dreamy glam-rock - but which also manages to represent Parisian elegance through these fantasies. Even though a lot of the pieces contain skulls and swords each piece just screams chic in either gold or silver or sometimes a mixture of both. They are best known for the pendant set of angel wing necklace that seem to go with just about any item of clothes. Corpus Christi is becoming quite the trend and much known in the ‘inner fashion circles’. I was invited to the designer’s private sale and was surprised to see many foreign young ladies buying up a number of his collections – I guess most women enjoy making a bit of a fashion and love statement especially when it can be done subtly through beautiful jewelry.
I just love-love every piece!! Check out the Corpus Christi myspace page.
