So you’re stuck in the city, it’s as hot as a pair of Bruno Frisoni’s canvas wedge platforms (in red and white stripes) and all you can do is dream of lying aimlessly on a beach. Well for those who can’t get to a beach, it’s simple, Paris brings the beach to you! Below are some images of Parisians cooling down from a hot August on their very own city-home-made-beach known as ‘Paris Plage’. This beach comes to life for one month only along the River Seine – of course a main motorway in the middle of the city has to be shut down for this to happen – but who’s complaining when you get a beach chair and sand in your hair in return?
My favorite has to be the vapored water sprinklers lining a boardwalk making it feel like walking through a cloud – though I’m not sure how that’s supposed to feel exactly, but you get the “drift” – it’s a super smart way to summer-sooth your body without getting wet or ruining your summer hair-do! Now how “cool” is that?
Beaching until 20 August…
