A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival 2009

Anyone who is anyone in the Parisian (and beyond) fashion scene knows of Diane Pernet and her signature veiled bee-hive, dark shades and hand-held camera that has a lense only focused on fashion…

This fashion icon and journlaist is also the organizer of a dazzeling film festival dedicated to fashion, style and beauty through the genre of “mode” of course, called A Shaded View on Fashion Film.

The award ceremony taking place this Thursday on October 8th 2009 - marks the second year running and even more fashion seducing! Hot designer Rick Owens will be the special guest, which will be followed by cocktails and then a A Shaded After Party hosted by Diane Pernet herself + Morts Aux Jeunes + Von Engelswacht, bureau de mode.
Apparently not only will we be celebrating the ASVOFF Awards and the end of Fashion Week but also Diane’s Birthday too (how appropriate that she was born during fashion week, non?)
Party will be at Chez Moune, 54 rue Pigalle, 75009 Paris – and the DJ set wil include Diane Pernet herself, The_Bigger_Splashes (Mort aux Jeunes) and ElectricReno (Midnight Rendez-Vous)

Back to the festival – the films/commecrials/music videos screened depicted captivating portraits and often a personal look at the exciting world of fashion from behind the scenes. Showcased commercials such as Dita von Teese’s collaboration with Wonderbra in ‘The Science of Sexy’ directed by Ali Mahdavi, and even a retrospective on the electropop group Chicks on Speed…as well as other documentarie.
