"American Hotel Stories" touched by legends

This is for the jet-setters, rock ‘n roll worshipers, cinephiles and those who simply love the finer travel through the USA – let me introduce you to a book you simply have to own called American Hotel Stories written by Francisca Mattéoli.
This book is a culmination of stories where great legends left history inside and out the walls of hotels – such as the bar of Hotel Chelsea in New York  where Bob Dylan drank his last eighteen neat whiskeys (and also produced a record and a son there!); and hotel Del Coronado in San Diego where three quarters of the film Some Like It Hot was shot as the backdrop starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon; or in room 9 of hotel “Maison de Ville” in New Orleans where Tennessee Williams finished writing A Street Car Named Desire  are just some of the many stories this book reveals – filled with rich text and fabulous images just like the ultimate travel scrapbook…
Since most of my dear Paris Popcorn readers are either the jet-setting or the exotic arm-traveling kind, I just had to let you know about this book – not only as an inspiration to create your own legendary experiences next time you pick a hotel but also to feel the intrigue, the love-making and stimulation that these lodgings provided to the great actors, writers, gangsters, politicians and musicians….and now it totally makes me wonder  about the seductive power of hotels….

And just so you know, author Francisca Mattéoli is a famed travel writer who writes for National Geographic, Conde Nast Traveller as well for in-flight magazines such as Air France – to name but a few!
Over and above, Francisca is part Chilean, Scottish and French and this is her 6th travel book ….so travel and search for the exotic is totally in her blood.
If you’re in the New York area on December 9 – make your way to the Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue from 18:30 to 20:30 where Francisca will be for her book signing – and tell her I say hi !
