Spots I like

Eau Spa Palm Beach – bringing out the "inner royal me"

I recently discovered and experienced a spot I would like to call a pampering paradise – this  glistening patch of pure pleasure is the Eau Spa at the Ritz Carlton Palm Beach…. Ladies and gents, this is the place to leave the world behind and allow yourselves to be enveloped in glamor in all its glory…because you deserve it.
This is not your average spa – let me just explain the concept as I experienced it:
it’s all about the ‘inner royal’ you…
Esthetically and physically every inch has been carefully selected, designed, mixed and matched to transport you into pure bliss.
I will share with you my personal Eau experience (pronounced “Oh” – which is French for Water) so that you can feel a drop of its pleasure…
My experience started off by making a wish at the copper wishing well… (may I have many more such spa experiences….)
I then entered the locker room and was greeted by a luxurious thrown-like sofa  to use while I get changed into a bathrobe and slippers…
I then went for a dip in the Bath Lounge which is built to resemble an ancient hammam – ladies only of course (there’s a separate one for men) so it’s totally made for socializing and catching up with the girls – either in the cascading jacuzzi that comes armed with large-sized rubber ducks or in the steam room that comes equipped with, yes, a disco-ball….after all life is about having a party, non?

mmmm…let’s see, I then headed off to have my “couple’s facial” in a private garden villa called “naughty villa” (they have 19 rooms 12 of which come with a private outdoor lush garden, including a Victorian tub and out-door shower). I had the signature facial called the Cornelia Lumina facial – in essence ladies, this is jewelry for the skin as it combines precious stones and gems (pearls, emerald, ruby, gold, sapphire and even diamonds) and  then it was followed with a fabulous caviar masque….need I say more?

After the sensational hour and a half spent pampering in the private villa I made my way to the Eau Zone lounge to chill and reflect on how rejuvenated I was feeling. Flopping on one of the couches, I helped myself to a chocolate cupcake, read a bridal magazine and admired John Harrington’s “cut glasses” chandelier made completely out of champagne, wine and whisky glasses (of which only 5 such chandelier exists – 2 are at Eau Spa…)

I then took a stroll to the Self-Centered Garden which is a spot where time just stands still thanks to a melange of water, sun and fresh air! My favorite has to be the hammock-like metal hanging chairs  that gently swing over an ankle-deep, warm water pond…
(that’s me in absolute bliss!)
Sun-beds, large sofas and an over-sized chess-board ideal for lazing around, day-dreaming and socializing…
And I absolutely loved the mirrored sun-dial…something to reflect on….

Once I felt I soaked up the spa’s philosophy of “pause, play and perfect”, I was whisked off  for a peak into the Ritz Carlton’s presidential suite…. and well, I fell in love….not just with the fabulously glamorous room but with a wall dedicated to high-heels! Or rather ‘sole sensations’ as creator Robert Tabor calls them and each shoe in this room is made in the image of a fabulous First Lady…
My favorite one had to be the Marie Antoinette shoe…
‘Eau-la-la’ – within this spa and its surroundings, I think I have found the embodiment of princess pampering…
