With the on-set of Haute Couture week and finally the much anticipated warmer months, ParisPopcorn was invited to a glam soirée held at the prestigious Polo de Paris club….so roll out the orange carpet and put up the fish-deco while we tell you all about it….
Veuve Clicquot threw a garden party to celebrate the highly imaginative and limited edition new packaging – a can of sardines cradling a bottle of Cuvée Brut Carte Jaune – the can, appropriately named Ponsardine pays tribute to the origins of Madame Clicquot….In 1813, Nicholas Ponsardin, the father of Madame Veuve Clicquot was raised to the rank of baron by Napoleon 1. It was at this time that Nicholas Ponsardin chose to illustrate its own heritage with playfulness, opting for a decorated shield of a bridge with a sardine: PON (t) SARDIN (e)
And if you were in for a bit of a challenge you could even try fish for a bottle or two…As for entertainment, horse-jumping-sans-horses was taking place on the polo field – yes these stallions are one of a kind….(www.horsemanteam.com)
We also mingled with people like Julie and François, owners of a landmark restaurant in Bordeaux called L’Estacade where their clients can drink in both an exceptional view over the Garrone river and exceptional bottels of Veuve Clicquot….
If you ever wondered what the epitome of a Parisian summer is, I think it’s about lazing around sipping on a glass of champagne surrounded by magnificently dressed individuals…
