Last night the city of lights turned into it’s annual ‘city of fashion-frenzy’ (for a change!) yes it was the Vogue Fashion Night Out….
Luxury fashion boutiques (the likes of Lanvin, Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Valentino, Dior, etc) “opened” their doors, brought out their acclaimed designers, and served free champagne to the public…..errr that is if you were a ‘public’ lucky enough to land an invitation…..and get past the bouncers….But who-gives-a-shoe as most Parisians took this opportunity to grace the streets in all their fashion glory. And by ‘streets’ the location has now moved from the ultra prestigious golden triangle of Ave Montaigne, Champs Elysées and George V to the ultra prestigious-but-easier-to-manage ‘golden credit card’…. rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, la rue Saint-Honoré, la rue Royale, la Place de la Madeleine, la rue Cambon, la Place Vendôme, la rue Castiglione, la place du marché-Saint-Honoré et la rue d’Alger – a rather good move we think….

Highlights from the night included Kenzo’s hoolahoop party, La Perla’s models who stepped out of the boutique wearing very little and then asked to step back in by French-Fashion-Police, and Chloe’s parade of dancing cheerleaders that descended from a Chevrolet truck. Also a range of limited edition designer products were released in boutiques exclusively for the Vogue Fashion Night Out – such as Lanvin’s capsule collection, Chanel’s Twin-set beauty kits, Michael Kors’ sunglasses, Moschino’s iPhone case and Paul Smith’s scarves….
Our personal highlights included literally stepping on a toe of the founder of Shoette as ‘ouch our heels really did hurt’ and voila came the solution – a super practical, keep in your pocket roll out flat ballerina pumps (perfect for night like these!). We also chatted with Messika jewelry creator the charming Valerie Messika who showed us her latest collection at the Heurgon boutique; and of course the opportunity to bring you some of our favorite snap-shots from the night….enjoy!
