Just a stone’s throw away from the Champs-Elysées, the Hôtel Sofitel Arc de Triomphe is the recently inaugurated luxury 5 star “pied-à-terre” hotel in Paris….. as imagined by Studio Putman, in collaboration with architectural agency IGLOO it’s a hotel which embodies the quintessence of the art of living as expressed with elegance and modernity behind a beautiful Haussmannian façade. And let’s just say that the hotel’s lobby and bar were literally over-flowing with all the city’s who-who all wanting to be part of the inauguration…
I recently discovered and experienced a spot I would like to call a pampering paradise – this glistening patch of pure pleasure is the Eau Spa
at the Ritz Carlton Palm Beach…. Ladies and gents, this is the place to leave the world behind and allow yourselves to be enveloped in glamor in all its glory…because you deserve it.
This is not your average spa – let me just explain the concept as I experienced it:
it’s all about the ‘inner royal’ you…
This must-visit ‘Alexandra Sojfer‘ boutique is all about “stunning umbrellas, parasols and accessories, hand-made in Paris since 1834″ ….
Umbrellas and parasols of all colors, designs, shapes and tissues line the walls of this Boulevard St-Germain boutique – the space itself is adorned like an accessory heaven with beaded necklaces, feather boas and clutch purses amongst the umbrellas….
These crafted beauties are made of materials such as lace, silk organza, tweed and brass that scream poetry & romance!
Each one is hand-stitched and loved with detail- crystallized Swarovsky elements, flowers, bows, tulle, lace and beads, rhinestones, furs and tassels – I would hang them in my home as works of art….or wear as a fabulous fashion accessory….
The designer, Alexandra Sojfer’s grandfather, Georges Gaspard first started handcrafting umbrellas in Paris in 1937 – incidentally he was the one who invented the “frou-frou” flamboyant 1920’s style umbrellas….
I totally just had to share this with you – luv it! luv it!
