I couldn't think of a more perfect backdrop than Saint-Tropez to meet up with 2 artists who are both as vibrant and kaleidoscopic as their masterpieces, please meet artists Leslie Sardinians and "by Ohne Titel".
We gathered over a bottle of rosé on a languid summer afternoon, the heat of the day melting into the warmth of our conversation as soon as we sat by the pool. Our words flowed naturally in Spanish, a shared language that resonated deeply —Leslie, with his Cuban roots, and "by Ohne Titel" who has a blend of Argentinian and French heritage (such as myself). It was an afternoon enveloped in laughter, sweat and colour.
"Postcards!" seemed to dominate our conversation. Leslie tells me "I always make a point to send a postcard to family and friends wherever I travel. Instead of filling it with words, I fill it with my drawings. They represent my current mood on that voyage. The postcards are like little canvases to share my art."
"By Ohne Titel" too tells me that she is an avid postcard sender - a tradition she has kept going for her young daughter "We send postcards from everywhere we travel, our collection is vast, each one a small masterpiece connecting us to the stories of our travels."
Leslie Sardinians lives in New York and spends a considerable time in Madrid, - his style of art can be described as colour mania and abstract symbolism, his works are like gushes of water transporting the viewer on his journies.
