Lady Gaga in London: A Feast of Mayhem and Magic

Last night (29 September) Lady Gaga stormed into London on the first UK stop of her Mayhem Ball tour— let's just say that she turned the O2 into a cathedral of beautiful chaos. And the crowd loved every glitter-drenched second (me included - I was in my element!)
She arrived on stage in a colossal red crinoline dress that opened to reveal a cage full of dancers. The elaborate red gown set a dramatic and theatrical tone for the concert and exceeded my expectations of what she will wear for her opening number!

We had a side view which was still fabulous, but how I would love to re-watch the show from the front row!

Gaga tore through nearly twenty years of anthems — from her breakout Just Dance to the newest smash The Dead Dance (Netflix’s Wednesday). For the latter, she surprised fans by bringing out the show’s rising stars Emma Myers and Evie Templeton, who floated onto the stage in ghostly bridal gowns before slipping into choreography of The Dead Dance. This was a complete gasp-worthy moment!

It was more than an arena pop show — it was a theatrical manifesto, a confession of some kind. She journeyed through acts of good vs evil, identity and control.
In every costume change, Gaga showed that pop can be spectacle and message. She shocks, uplifts, provokes — and, last night in London, she delivered in full.
Mayhem never tasted so sweet.

I gave up looking for logic and let myself be swept up by the sheer theatre of it all. Gaga, crooning Paparazzi on gleaming crutches, clad in a crash helmet and a dress with a monstrous train that drags her across the stage as she feigns despair, is not a puzzle to solve — it’s a spectacle to savour!
It’s absurd, it’s brilliant, and that’s exactly the point.
I absolutely love her!
