Longchamp × Constantin Riant

I just love it when heritage and fresh artistry meet — and the new Longchamp × Constantin Riant capsule is precisely that kind of blend. I stopped by Longchamp’s flagship on Rue Saint-Honoré to see it for myself, and it’s the kind of collaboration that makes you slow down and notice the details.

Longchamp’s story is pure Paris. Founded in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, the maison began with luxury leather-covered pipes before evolving into a full leather goods brand. It’s still family-owned today, and its craftsmanship has made icons of pieces like the Le Pliage — that perfectly foldable tote spotted on every stylish shoulder from Saint-Germain to Tokyo. What I’ve always admired about Longchamp is its ability to stay true to its roots while welcoming thoughtful, contemporary twists — like their reimagined Filet bag, a Paris market classic turned everyday fashion staple.

Enter Constantin Riant, a rising Paris-based artist and designer with a background in ceramics, illustration, and an eye for artisanship. His signature cobalt-blue and porcelain-white palette runs through this collection like a visual heartbeat, transforming familiar silhouettes into something quietly poetic.
In the boutique, the presentation carried his vision effortlessly — cobalt accents against warm lighting, with each piece displayed as if part of a curated gallery.

Highlights included the reimagined Le Pliage, dressed in Riant’s bespoke emblem — a collage of the maison’s history, from leather tools to travel motifs; the silk “Les Artisans de Paris” scarf, celebrating bakers, bookbinders, florists, and leatherworkers in delicate line drawings; and painter-style overalls, jackets and caps that feel as creative as they are wearable.

This collaboration feels both grounded in tradition and refreshingly current — proof that a true meeting of minds can create something lasting.

Over and above - Tucked away at 45 rue Vieille du Temple in the heart of Le Marais, the Longchamp × Constantin Riant pop-up café runs from 6 June to 2 September, offering a stylish pause between galleries and boutiques. The space carries Riant’s signature cobalt-blue and porcelain-white aesthetic, with blond-wood shelves displaying a curated mix of Longchamp pieces and artisan ceramics. Guests can linger over coffee or tea, nibble on croque-monsieur, flan, or cannelés served in enamelware, and browse a small selection of books. There’s even a postcard-writing corner — a charming touch that invites you to send a little piece of Paris to someone far away.
